The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (”DDA”) is a Commonwealth law and can be used in any Australian state. People who wish to make a complaint under the DDA must lodge the complaint first with the Australian Human Rights Commission.
If the complaint is not settled at the Australian Human Rights Commission, a person may then lodge the complaint at the Federal Court of Australia or the Federal Circuit Court.
