The Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (“EOA”) is a Victorian law and can only be used if you believe you have been discriminated against in Victoria. The EOA does not only cover discrimination against people who have disabilities, but also discrimination against people on the basis of their sex, race, and other attributes.

People with disabilities who want to make a complaint under the EOA can lodge a complaint at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, or directly to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

If the complaint is not settled at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, and you wish to proceed with the complaint, it then must be lodged at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
